Fortune favors no king
Fairness
Kings Duel never picks winners. Every coin flip comes from randomness that nobody — including us — can know or influence ahead of time, and you can check every result yourself.
Where the randomness comes from
- Play-money duels use the drand quicknet public beacon run by the League of Entropy. When a duel locks, a future beacon round is committed. Its value is unknown until independent operators publish it, together with a signature anyone can check.
- Real-money duels (when enabled) request verifiable randomness on-chain inside the join transaction, so it cannot be re-rolled.
The rule
The coin shows HEADS if (R[0] & 1) == 0 else TAILS — the lowest bit of the first byte of the randomness. For play-money duels, R = SHA-512( "KINGDUEL/DEMO-FLIP/V1" ‖ duel id ‖ beacon randomness), which ties the beacon to one specific duel.
Check it yourself
Every finished duel has a Verify Flip page with a “Verify in my browser” button. It checks the beacon signature, re-derives R and re-applies the rule on your own device. The Daily Crown Draw has the same for its winners.
